System.InvalidOperationException: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.

description

hi,

I get following error after uploading the excel

System.InvalidOperationException: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbServicesWrapper.GetDataSource(OleDbConnectionString constr, DataSourceWrapper& datasrcWrapper) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal..ctor(OleDbConnectionString constr, OleDbConnection connection) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionFactory.CreateConnection(DbConnectionOptions options, Object poolGroupProviderInfo, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.CreateNonPooledConnection(DbConnection owningConnection, DbConnectionPoolGroup poolGroup) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.GetConnection(DbConnection owningConnection) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionClosed.OpenConnection(DbConnection outerConnection, DbConnectionFactory connectionFactory) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection.Open() at ASP._layouts_spreadsheet_spreadsheet_aspx.GetExcelSheetNames() at ASP._layouts_spreadsheet_spreadsheet_aspx.btnUpload_Click(Object sender, EventArgs e)

I suppose it has to to do with my sharepoint site running on IIS with x64 mode and 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider runs only on x86 mode.

Any resolutions for this issue ? If I change IIS to run on x86 mode then site does not run and it shows "Server application server unavailable error"

thanks!

I posted this exact same error yesterday. (26/5/2010). Originally I was getting "Format Incorrect" and upgraded the version, now I get the .net error detailed in this post. I have read through all the "Format Inccorrect" discussion and find their does not seem to be any resolutions posted that I can see for quite some time.

My personal post seems to have dissappeared.

Anyrate... I will watch this post instead. Your earliest attention would be great.

Keen to use the product, but from what I can tell so far their is not a workable version...e.g. "Format incorrect" errors in the earlier version and .Net runtime errors in the later version, with no imports working.

Keen to see a resolution. I note that this post was on My 13th, its now the 27th and it does not yet seem to be assigned to anyone yet.

Does anyone know if the Staff at Codeplex Respond to issue posted on this forum?

Anyone with the solution for this issue?
In the status of this issue it states: Impact Low!? We CANNOT use this - Impact is HIGH for us!

Nice smooth install. Same for Office data exchange drivers (into Program Files(x86)). But after activating and trying to upload spreadsheet I get the same error.

I agree that this is not a low impact issue - anyone installing on a 64bit server cannot use what should be a really useful tool.

Please assign someone to this ASAP as I have loads of data in excel that needs to be transferred to our Sharepoint site.

Thanks.

I was able to get past the error by installing the x64 version of the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable. Although I have yet to upload an excel file at the time of this writing.

You can get the Microsoft Access Database Engine 2010 Redistributable here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en
