Folks,

For those interested in running this feature on a 64bit environment. try the following

  1. Download the 2010 Office System Driver Beta: Data Connectivity Components from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en
  2. Restart
  3. Locate spreadsheet.aspx
    Most likely here
    <drive>:Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\SpreadSheet\spreadsheet.aspx
  4. Modify the connection for XLS to read
    @"Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source= " + filePath + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 12.0;HDR=YES;\""

  5. Test

These steps did work for us.

That is right. Office driver - Data connectivity component has to be installed for the feature to work in x64 bit mode. WE have deployed a new version of the feature for x64 today. Please uses it to and follow the instructions in readme file to setup the feature.

Thanks for your patience and have a great day.
